SATPURA SAFARI TOUR
Tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and pristine river gorges in Central India's most tranquil and biodiverse highland sanctuary.
Central India's Pristine Highland Sanctuary
Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh is widely recognized by seasoned naturalists as India's most authentic wilderness experience. Named after the Satpura hill ranges, this rugged landscape features dramatic sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, cascading ravines, and the tranquil waters of the Denwa River reservoir.
Unlike more crowded parks, Satpura strictly limits vehicle entries, creating a quiet, deeply intimate safari atmosphere. It is the premier stronghold for Indian Sloth Bears, leopards, Indian Wild Dogs (Dholes), Malabar Giant Squirrels, and Royal Bengal Tigers.
Expedition Highlights
- 4 Gypsy Safaris (Core & Buffer): Explore Madhai, Churna, and buffer territories for the full spectrum of Satpura's diverse wildlife.
- Sloth Bear Capital of India: Unmatched probability of observing sloth bear mothers carrying cubs on their backs in daylight.
- Denwa River Boat Crossing: Begin each safari with an atmospheric boat crossing across the sparkling Denwa River.
- Nagpur Airport / Station Round-Trip: Smooth, organized transit in private vehicles between Nagpur and Satpura.
Best Time to Visit
October to June: Winter (November–February) offers pleasant cool days, morning river mist, and active sloth bear foraging. Summer (March–May) brings intense wildlife activity around the receding Denwa shoreline.
